SS. Peter and Paul Parish Celebrates
Our Lady of Lourdes & World Day of the Sick
Saturday, February 11, 2017
4:30 p.m. Mass
On February 11 2017, we will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. Saint John Paul the Great designated February 11 as World Day of the Sick, “a special time of prayer and sharing, of offering one’s suffering for the good of the Church, and of reminding us to see in our sick brothers and sisters the face of Christ who, by suffering, dying, and rising achieved the salvation of humankind” (Letter Instituting the World Day of the Sick, May 13, 1992) The Holy Mass on this day at 4:30 p.m. will be for the intention for physical and spiritual healing from God. After Mass there will be the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament along with prayers and an individual blessing.
Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to You.
Allow Your healing hand to heal me.
Touch my soul with Your compassion for others;
touch my heart with Your courage
and infinite Love for all;
touch my mind with Your Wisdom,
and may my mouth always proclaim Your praise.
Teach me to reach out to You in all my needs,
and help me to lead others to You by my example.
Most loving Heart of Jesus,
bring me health in body and spirit
that I may serve You with all my strength.
Touch gently this life which you have created,
now and forever. Amen.
