SS. Peter and Paul Parish will celebrate 40 Hours’ Devotion from October 7, 2016 to October 9, 2016. This is a time of prayer, reflection, and adoration of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. Please read the following information and make plans to join us for this most beautiful and important occasion.

The following is a schedule of events for the weekend of 40 Hours’ Devotion.
Friday, October 7, 2016 (First Friday & Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary)
6:00 p.m. Sacrament of Reconciliation
6:30 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary in Honor of the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary
7:00 p.m. Holy Mass followed by Exposition, prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Adoration, and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament
Saturday, October 8, 2016
9:00 a.m. Holy Mass followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
10:00 a.m. Lecture: “The Eucharist in the Year of Mercy”
Msgr. John Kasza, pastor of St. James in Novi, will discuss how the Eucharist at its very essence is a merciful act of God the Father. In instituting the Eucharist, Jesus Christ, who is mercy, calls us to be merciful to ourselves and especially to others. In addition, the Holy Spirit invites us to become people of the Eucharist who live out Christ’s sacrifice through our words and actions.
Brunch will follow the lecture in the Lower Church Hall. Please let us know you are attending the lecture and brunch by calling 313-846-2222 ext. 100 and leaving a message by Monday, September 26.

Vatican International Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles
October 1, 2016 through October 9, 2016
An extensive collection of photographs and historical records presenting a sampling of ancient and modern Eucharistic Miracles that have taken place in various parts of the world. All the miracles in the exhibition are Church-approved. The exhibition has been to more than 500 parishes in Italy and is currently traveling around the world. Now it is coming to our Parish! The Exhibition will be on display in the Lower Church Hall and available for viewing before and after all Masses on October 1 & 2, 2016 as well as October 7, 8, and 9, 2016.
40 Hours’ Devotion Adoration
On Saturday, October 8, Adoration will take place in Church from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A sign-up sheet is located in the Sacristy. Please consider spending time with Jesus!
